Some say it may have been a meeting in the East Lounge, others say it was in the Manning Room, regardless of location, it was on that day in 1981 that Mount Allison staff decided to join together and become a unified group — the Mount Allison Staff Association (MASA). On July 27th, 1990, MASA joined forces with CUPE National and was certified as CUPE Local 3433.
