Interested full-time students with the MASA affiliation are encouraged to apply for the 2014-2015 bursaries by Friday, February 27, 2015. The application form can be found on the Registrar’s Office website at: http://www.mta.ca/uploadedFiles/Winter%20Bursary%202015.pdf

Please be sure that the Statement Letter indicates application for the MASA Bursary, and names the affiliated MASA member. There is also a box on the Bursary Application that must be checked off. Completed forms should be submitted to Margaret Esparza-Lee, Financial Aid and Awards Counsellor in the Registrar’s Office.

If you have further questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me, or Margaret (financialaid@mta.ca).

Mount Allison University Staff Association Bursary:

“The MASA bursary (two of $500 each) shall be awarded first to any applicant who is a full-time student at Mount Allison University  (as defined by MTA policy) and a member of MASA (including a member on leave) or part of a member’s immediate family (immediate family defined as children*, grandchildren, spouse or siblings). If more than two qualified people apply the bursaries shall be awarded first to eligible members, then to their children, grandchildren, spouses and siblings. Within any level of eligibility, priority will be given based on financial need. If less than two apply, the remaining bursary or bursaries shall be awarded by the Financial Aid officer to needy MTA student(s) without the MASA restriction.

* Including biological children, step-children and adopted children (whether formally adopted or not — i.e. including ones who have been living with the member, as family) regardless of their age, whether they live at home, marital status, etc.”
